A Mysore style class is the traditional way to learn Ashtanga.
Each student learns and memorizes the poses one-by-one, as instructed by the teachers, and in doing so takes full responsibility for their own practice.

Students progress at different pace; this is ideal for everyone from new beginners to dedicated practitioners.
Students can arrive at any time during the session, as long as they allow enough time to finish their practice and take rest.

This method of learning allows for a healthy adaptation according to the students needs.
The practice room is silent except for the sound of the breath; this allows students to fully immerse themselves in what is essentially a meditative breathing practice.
Mysore style gets its’ name from the city in Southern India that is home to the Ashtanga Yoga tradition.

About Nathalie Daou

Nathalie was initially drawn to yoga as a method of engaging and healing physical pains she was experiencing as a teenager. After several years of practice she found strong benefits in the method of Ashtanga Yoga, which helped her improve greatly not only on the physical level but also embark on a spiritual journey. The practice has made her stay steady and focused, while maintaining a humble attitude, living and loving each moment to the fullest. After more than 10 years of dedicated Ashtanga Yoga practice, Nathalie made her way to Mysore/India in 2014 to further her studies and deepen her knowledge with (Paramaguru) R. Sharath Jois at the Shri K.Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI), and she has been going back ever since. In January 2019 Nathalie became the first Lebanese practitioner to be authorized level 2 by R. Sharath Jois to teach Ashtanga Yoga. In keeping a mindful and virtuous approach towards yoga, Nathalie feels blessed to share her passion for this powerful and healing practice.
